The Gilbert Family attorney, John Ray, took out some time to call-in to the Crime Report on Long Island News Radio, WRCN 103.9 FM. Mr. Ray has been one of the strongest voices pushing the Long Island Serial Killer (LISK) case forward. He has not been deterred by any obstacles on his path to the truth. Mainly, what happpend on the night that Shannan Gilbert ran screaming from Oak Beach, NY?
Was Shannan a Victim of LISK?
Shannan Gilbert fled Oak Beach on the night of May 1, 2010. Her skeletal remains were found about eighteen months later not far from where she was last seen. There are many unanswered questions regarding her disappearance. For one thing, who was the first police officer on the scene and what did they do? A security camera was located at the entrance of Oak Beach and not far from where Gilbert was last seen. Whatever happened that night, we know one thing for sure: Without Shannan, there would be no LISK.
A New Autopsy
Suffolk County Police contend that Shannan Gilbert was not murdered. Instead, the cause of death was drowning and the manner of death, accidental. John Ray commissioned a new autopsy with world-renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden. Dr. Baden concluded that Shannan’s cause of death was asphyxia and the manner of death was homicide.
