On Wednesday, December 21, 2016, from 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM, hosts Jay Oliver of WRCN 103.9FM, Long Island News Radio and Joseph Giacalone will welcome Josh Zeman and Rachel Mills from A&E’s hit new show, The Killing Season. They will discuss the Long Island Serial Killer case, their hit show, what they uncovered and where they are headed next.
December 11, 2016, will mark the six year anniversary of the hunt for The Long Island Serial Killer (LISK), when four sets of human remains wrapped in burlap were discovered by a police K9. Josh and Rachel have been following his (their) trail on the epic series, The Killing Season. Their leads have taken them from Long Island to:
- Atlantic City, New Jersey to investigate any connections between the “Eastbound Strangler” and the LISK to
- Daytona Beach, Florida and the I-4 Serial Killer
- Oklahoma where they uncover an entire network of possible long-haul serial killers to
- The West Mesa Serial Killer in New Mexico and then back to Long Island
In The Killing Season, Josh Zeman and Rachel Mills use their investigatory skills to develop new leads, persons of interest and discover new technology, such as the Murder Accountability Project to help them identify potential serial killer hunting grounds. They also brilliantly tap into the vast amount of Internet detectives that help drive theories and provide additional leads. By watching the show, one would quickly deduce that our law enforcement agencies are not collaborating on cases or sharing intelligence. At times it the show often leaves the viewers asking, “Do the police care at all?”
