Tonight at 5:35PM EST, on Crime Talk, I will speak with Rebecca Looney, the Senior Director of Exhibits and Programs for the future National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington D.C. set to open in 2018. The Museum will be built directly across the street from the Law Enforcement Memorial.
The National Law Enforcement Museum will be the first museum of it’s kind devoted to celebrating the lives and sacrifices made by America’s law enforcement officers at the federal, state and local levels. The Museum will be equipped with a Firearms and Training Simulator (F.A.T.S.) that will take the user on a simulated experience that police officers face every day.
The following exhibits are planned for the 2018 opening:
- The Beltway Sniper Case – Including John Muhammed’s car and rifle
- The J. Edgar Hoover Collection
- Women in Policing
- The Miranda Case
- Forensics Laboratory
- Law Enforcement and Pop Culture
- Eliot Ness artifacts
